Reading Notes: Twenty Jataka Tales
The Tortoise and The Geese
- The Tortoise wanted to go to the Geese's home but he could not fly.
- The Geese told him to hold onto a branch with his mouth and they will fly him there.
- While the Tortoise was in the air, the children were laughing at him hanging from a branch.
- The Tortoise got angry and started to speak, but he ended up falling from the branch.
- The King heard the story and took that as a lesson to never speak unless it is of importance.
