Reading Notes: Week 2 Anthology

 The Jataka story I decided to write about is Two Turtle Jatakas. Of the two turtle stories featured, I was most intrigued by The Turtle and The King. 

Characters: King's sons- cowardly, scared of the Turtle

The Turtle- trickster, conniving

The King- fond of his sons

Climax: The Turtle begging not to be thrown in the lake, and then being thrown in the lake. 

Resolution: The turtle tricked the people, and swam safely in the lake. 

The main theme of this story is that things are not always as they seem, and one can use someone's ignorance or cluelessness to their advantage.
